Thor Building Products Pty Ltd (Thor) was established in May 2000 with the objective of developing advanced manufacturing technology for reflective foil insulation, specifically engineered for the external wrapping of residential dwellings.

In 2003, Thor expanded into the under-tile roof reflective insulation sector, and by mid-2004, had built a strong market presence among roofing contractors in Queensland. In 2005, the company introduced reflective foil insulation for metal roofs, which quickly became a market leader, widely adopted by metal roof contractors and plumbers across Australia’s east coast.

Continuing its growth, Thor broadened its product portfolio in 2009 with the introduction of premium bulk insulation solutions, including Rhino Wool and Rhino Blanket. By 2015, the company had further diversified its offerings with the launch of Rhino Batts and the establishment of a national distribution network, positioning Thor as a comprehensive provider of insulation products.

Thor is also a proud decade-long member of the Housing Industry Association (HIA). With HIA members responsible for over 80% of new homes and renovations in Australia, this membership underscores Thor’s dedication to quality, innovation, and industry leadership.
