Channel 9 televised their first fight card from Brisbane since the sock ’em-rock ’em days of Festival Hall 30 years ago Saturday Night.Thor Building Products was the major sponsor of the event.
What a fantastic night it was! Promoter Angelo Di Carlo’s brought Shannon “Shaggy’’ King lost his Australian 70kg boxing title against the unbeaten young gun Rocky Jerkic. Brisbane’s undefeated Australian lightweight champ Miles Zalewski lost to Englishman Darragh Foley. Trent Broadhurst was the star of the show defeating his tough opponent Rob Powdrill.
